Indian Crabs

Hey everybody!

Today, I actually thought of sharing with all of you about the Indian crab story. I am sure many of you'll would have already came across this story but yes I'm sharing this story here again based on my very own experience in life. I am clearly not underestimating the Indian society or putting anyone down. I myself am an Indian and a staunch Hindu. So, this Indian crab story was introduced to me by my Master, His Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda during a spiritual retreat.

The story goes like this, once lot of crabs had to be transported from one place to another. There were crabs from many countries, even Indian crabs were there. The crabs from different countries were put into different boxes, so that transportation becomes easy. The lid of all boxes were closed except the lid of box which contained the Indian crabs, when asked the authority said that the crabs from other countries had unity, and if one of the crab tries to escape from the box, others would support it to climb till the top of the box and it would escape easily, so those were closed. But no problem with Indian crabs, because if one crab tries to climb, others feel jealous about its success and will pull it down back into the box, so it cannot escape at all.

So, I am actually very sure most of us would have faced this even at least once in life, am I right? 😂 For me, I feel it's very normal in our current society. Extremely normal! There isn't space for healthy competition anywhere. It's always about making sure you're better than the other person. When I listened to the story, I couldn't relate to it immediately because I never encountered such situation ever in my life. Then somehow I started experiencing this in my secondary school. When people are jealous of you, they start bad mouthing you. They pray you don't come up in life. They pray for your failure.

Guys, my personal request to all of you to avoid these kind of people as much as you can for your very own peace of mind. I had friends in secondary school who used to come up to me and be really nicely when I get lower marks than them and they'll say things like, ''It's okay. You can do better next time.'' and all sorts of flowery things. Sooner or later when I score higher than them, they wouldn't even speak a word to me the whole afternoon till school ends. I really couldn't digest how this kept happening but later I learnt how to ignore it. Just look at how people who admit themselves to be your friend behaves when it comes to results.

Healthy competition is when you guys works hard together to obtain good results and be happy for each other when you hard work is paid off. It isn't at all about being jealous of each other and hoping for another person's failure. What do we even get by promoting jealousy and hatred? Nothing but headache! Trust me, we'll only feel suffocated when we worry about other people's progress. When you're happy about other's success, you're always happy with yourself 😃. I have met many people with this same character wherever I went. I'm not saying every Indian carries jealousy in them, No! There will be competition wherever you go but you have to make sure it isn't based on hatred and jealousy. It doesn't cost you anything to be genuinely happy for another soul. As the quote goes, you get what you give, when you're happy for another person's success, everybody else will be happy for your success too. And that's a wrap for today guys!

I really wanted to share this story with all of you and I really hope everyone gets a message from this write up. Thank you once again for taking your time to come to my blog and read my posts up here! See you soon till my next write up! 😏
